Car and Key Thefts
Our PCSO, Lindsey has reported the following.
Knutsford Police are wanting to get a message across to the public.
We have had a few reports recently of homes getting broken onto whereby offenders specifically go into these houses to obtain car keys for vehicles.
Please can you ensure that car keys are kept in a safe place at your home address and in a place that is secure and out of reach to offenders.
It's usually a good idea to keep keys out of sight and at least, well out of reach of a door or window. We know of quite a few people who have lost their car by just leaving the keys where they could be seen, only to have a window broken and the keys taken, or in one case, the keys were hooked up by some device used through a letterbox.
