Chelford Parish Council is seeking to appoint a new Clerk. The position is home-based, working up to 4 hours per week to provide administrative and managerial support to the Parish Council. Renumeration will be according to the Local Council scale 1 and dependent on experience.

The Parish Council meets on the second Thursday of every other month (January, March, May, July, December). The Clerk is required to attend Parish Council meetings, write the minutes and be the Responsible Financial Officer for the Parish Council.

The successful candidate will have good oral and written communication skills; have relevant secretarial, office and computer skills; internet access; own transport; be familiar with the production of basic accounts.; highly motivated and used to working at home.

The applicant will have experience of working as a Town or Parish Clerk and, although not essential, but desirable, will have attained or be working towards the Certificate in Local Council Administration.

There is the opportunity for the Clerk to contribute to the Village Website and also to write the PC's newsletter produced each quarter.
