A Christmas Tree Forest in Chelford
"Nowhere else in the Country like it", that's the phrase used by many visitors descending upon Chelford Market from far and wide for the annual sales of Christmas Trees over the next three weeks.
Indeed, nowhere else in the Country sells quite the volume of trees seen at Chelford. The record number was 33,000 trees a few years ago, and it is likely this year that we will see somewhere between 25,000 and 30,000 trees will be sold over three Wednesdays.
Chelford Market is renowned throughout the UK as one of the most diverse Auction Centre's, holding twice weekly livestock sales, and twice weekly horticultural sales, the largest in the Country, as well as a huge monthly sale of agricultural and contractors plant and machinery, garden equipment etc, which often attracts in excess of 3,000 lots.
