CTARA Christmas Lunch
Now, this is only an interim report as the pictures are hot off the, errm, iPhone. Look out for more as the week goes on.
It was a full house for the CTARA Christmas Lunch at the Hall, Marthall and no wonder. Mike, David and crew had been working very hard for days to provide a wonderful lunch of five courses, topped off by coffee and mints.
Mike started off the proceedings with a series of moving tributes to all those people who work so hard to make CTARA the success it is. One look at the wonderful programme of events laid out for 2015 shows what a fantastic range of activities are available. As one lady told your website reporter, "There's no need to be miserable in Chelford, there's lots of good times to be had in good company".
There were generous raffle prizes, great musical entertainment and finally, Councillor George Walton presented the CTARA committee with a Cheshire East Council Community Grant of £3297 for their 'Ageing Well In Chelford' initiative.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the tireless efforts of Mike and David who do so much good, particularly for the older folk in our community. They are truly an example of what can be achieved with a generous spirit, a sense of fun and a lot of hard work.
