CTARA Raise Money for Royal British Legion
Chelford Tenants & Residents Association's Craft Group raised a magnificent £72 through their activities by making crocheted poppies for Remembrance Day.
The money was handed over by volunteer Megan Bromley to the Royal British Legion in Chestergate in Macclesfield.
The craft group is currently busy preparing items for the forthcoming Christmas Fair which is to take place on Saturday 25th November at Astle Court Community Room, Elmstead Road, Chelford from 10am to 12 noon. Admission is £1 which includes tea/coffee and a mince pie!
As well as the Craft groups items volunteers have been busy making jams, pickles, preserves and homemade cakes, mince pies and sausage rolls.
As it's a Christmas Fair there will be the usual stands such as raffle, guess the name of the toy and guess the weight of the Christmas cake. Our community garden group volunteers have also been busy making baskets and pots for sale, which make ideal gifts or just something to brighten your own home. The garden group started when the Association raised funding for a 20ft by 10ft Community Greenhouse several years, which has provided plants for enhance our community gardens in Chelford.
Events like these are vital in raising funds to support the work we undertake in helping to prevent social isolation and loneliness and making Chelford a vibrant community.
We'd love to see you on Saturday!
