Daffodils In The Village
Daffodils in the village
It's always good to have something bright to look forward to at this time of year and several hardy villagers and the indomitable Brownies and Guides set out to plant some daffodil bulbs to cheer us all up.
Chelford Farm supplies kindly donated a sack full of daffodil bulbs to be planted around the village.
Doug Couling planted hundreds in the grass near the War Memorial at Church. Chelford School were given some which their young gardeners were planting at the front of school. Chelford Brownies and Guides planted some in a trefoil shaped bed, dug around the Thinking Day tree that they planted last year.
As always, the weather was shocking and the light poor. In spite of this, Sue Roycroft managed to photograph the Brownies and Guides at work under the glare of car headlights. Hope is with us as it is getting lighter by about 15 minutes per week!
