Drivers Wanted to Reduce Loneliness
Chelford Together is looking for volunteer drivers for a mini bus to enable some of our residents to get out, enjoy life and have fun. Being in a rural area, with poor transport means that opportunities are limited to those with no transport, disabilities, or close families.
Chelford Together has also found that running large coach outings is simply no longer viable. Chelford Together has the opportunity to use the mini bus managed by Knutsford Community Transport Trust, all we need are volunteers!
Perhaps you are retired? Perhaps you enjoy driving?Perhaps you just want to give something back to your community? Do you have a driving licence?
Examples of places we would like to organise trips to could include Bury Market, Gardens, Garden Centres, Southport, Llandudno, Buxton, Crewe Theatre, cinema trips, ten pin bowling, shopping trips!
You would be insured to drive, given full induction to the mini bus and be assured of a worthwhile and satisfying contribution to your local community. Just imagine what it must be like to be confined to your home, because you can't drive or use public transport or are disabled (the mini bus has a wheelchair lift) and then you will realise how important this role is and what a difference you can make to people's lives
Please contact David at Chelford Together 01625 861038 to find out more! The more volunteer drivers we have the more we can do to prevent loneliness
