Evictions On Private Land
Cheshire Police have issued some advice on evictions from private land.
There are various courses of action available to deal with unauthorised encampments on privately-owned land (as opposed to land within the ownership of the local authority). The decision for the most appropriate course of action to be taken will, of course, rest entirely with the relevant landowner. It is worth remembering that trespass in the first instance is a civil offence and not a criminal offence.
