Good Price For Pasture
PASTURELAND SELLS TO £21,400/ACRE
A huge crowd at The Old Padeswood Golf Club on the evening of Thursday 19th March saw pastureland sell for over £21,000/acre, when 85 acres were sold by Chester Auctioneers Wright Marshall at auction in 7 Lots, on behalf of Flintshire County Council.
Situated on the outskirts of Penyffordd and Higher Kinnerton the auction saw a 100% clearance with competitive bidding on all Lots, which achieved an average of just under £10,000/acre for the 85 acres sold. Lot sizes ranged from 3.8 acres to 21 acres with the top price of £21,400/acre being obtained for Lot 3, a 3.8 acre paddock at Penyffordd selling after frantic bidding for £80,000.
Wright Marshall Director and Auctioneer Peter Lewis commented that the sale demonstrated the continuing strength of the agricultural land market and also the benefit of selling at auction, to achieve prices in excess of sale expectations by open competitive bidding.
