Aviva award winner 2016

1st Chelford Scout group had a grand opening night for their new kitchen. As Friday is a normal Scout meeting evening, the celebrations were built around a special pizza making night for the Scouts. They were very lucky to have the expert assistance of a renowned TV cook, Mrs Judith Adshead, who has appeared on many cooking programmes, including Farmhouse kitchen.

As you can imagine, there was as much enthusiasm for the cooking as there was for the new kitchen. The event was well attended by Scouts, parents, leaders of all the uniformed groups and committee members. Chelford Parish Council chairman, Dave Wilson and his wife, Barbara also generously gave up their Friday evening to join in the celebrations.

After the pizza cooking and games, there was a short presentation to thank all those who had worked so hard to bring about the new kitchen.

Special thanks went to Phil Welch and Joe Adshead. Phil did much of the design and the installation work and Joe also worked long and hard on the refurbishment. Everyone agreed that he had done an exceptional job on the tiling.

It was great team effort by the Group Committee and all involved and a fine example of a successful community project.

1st Chelford Scout Group would especially like to thank Aviva for their generous funding and Topps Tiles (Macclesfield) and Henshaw Waste Management for their valued contributions.

Now, we're all waiting to see how long it will be before we produce some Master Chef finalists.
