Little Free Library
Love Reading! Bookworm? Spare books?
"The Little Free Library" outside Astle Court Community Room, Elmstead Road, Chelford needs your help!
We are in need of good quality books for our library, for all age groups!
Did you know that the Little Free Library is used more than the Cheshire East Mobile Library?
Little Free Library is a non profit organisation (started in the USA) that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighbourhood book exchanges around the world.
Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds. When CTARA first installed the Little Free Library there were around 15 in the UK, now there over 50. One of the most successful ways to improve the reading achievement of children is to increase their access to books, especially at home (McGill-Franzen & Allington, 2009) Little Free Libraries play an essential role by providing 24/7 access to books (and encouraging a love of reading!)
If you haven't used it, please support it, if possible following the simple idea of "Take a book, return a book" !
The way it is going CTARA will probably have to build an extension!
Thanks for your support in both using and helping with books!
