Lively British Pig Association Sale
A small but very select entry of pigs were presented before the Judge Mrs Debbie Beeby at the 4th Annual Show and Sale at Chelford, Cheshire on behalf of the British Pig Association, which was kindly sponsored by the Farmers Guardian and Aztec Adhesives Ltd.
The Championship was awarded to the first prize female Burry Theresa 3862, a tremendous in-pig Welsh gilt shown by Messrs E W & K M Austin, Swansea which realised 700 gns and sold to Mr PJapheth of Caernarfon.
Messrs Austin also sold in-pig Welsh to 610 gns and 550 gns and maiden Welsh to 410 gns and 400 gns.
Top price boar was an August 2013 Welsh, Burry James 4074 from Messrs Austin at 390 gns and purchased by Messrs G D Swerling and Sons of Chalfort St Giles, Buckinghamshire.
