The first meeting of 2017 on Wednesday 25th January held at Lower Withington Village Hall began with a rousing rendition of Jerusalem.

Our President Anne wished everyone a Happy New Year and informed us that the Christmas Fair had raised about £270. We had another lively evening with nearly 60 members in attendance and Audrey was presented with some flowers, having just celebrated a 'big' birthday!

Our Guest Speaker was Katie Percival of Kinderton Hat Studio from Byley near Middlewich, who has 700 to 800 hats and fascinators for hire and sale. Katie also makes some of her own hats and told us all about the many processes that go into making them, also the little touches that personalise a hat to go with a particular outfit.

After Katie finished her talk, a lot of trying on commenced. The Vote of Thanks was given by Janet Jones, then, as usual, wonderful refreshments were enjoyed.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 22nd February at 7.30pm at Lower Withington Village Hall where our Speaker will be Mary Hignett with 'Hints and Tips on Show Work,' come along and join us if you can.
