Lower Withington WI Report
We welcomed a new member this evening which is always nice. Barbara Hides was given a lovely plant for all the hard work she and Bill put in for the Cream Tea Event last month.
Cheshire Show has once again been a success for Lr. Withington with two first prizes out of the three combined classes entered. Among the individual entries we had three firsts, three second and three commended. Well done to everyone.
Elizabeth Hickson from Essence a beauty salon with premises in Nantwich, Sandbach and Cranage Hall came and gave us a skin care and make up demo with our new lady being the model. She used Clarins products and gave us a lot of tips and advice on beauty care especially for the older lady. She was very easy to listen to and very entertaining with little anecdotes about incidents in the salon, all very discreet but funny. She has come a long way from her original career in selling animal feeds round the farms and working in a vet, nothing could be more far removed from beauty care. We all received a voucher for a reduced price half hour session at one of the salons so we can indulge ourselves.
Our competition of a rose was won by Con Lea with Pauline Kennerley second. Karen Hilton won the raffle.
Next month our meeting will be at Arley Hall as it is our annual evening outing. There is no competition this month.
