Mere Court Update
The Parish Council has been successful in bidding for additional funding to continue improvements around the pond area. In addition to the grant of £3000 received from Cheshire East in February, the Parish Council is delighted to announce that Peaks and Plains Housing Trust has recently agreed to approve a grant of £2200, which will now allow work to be completed on the pond and its surrounds. The Parish Council is grateful to the Trust for providing the funds and supporting the community.
In October and November the pond will be cleared of debris; the fencing will be cleared of undergrowth, then cleaned and treated and new benches will be installed. Once this work is completed, it is hoped that the area will look more attractive and encourage more residents to make use of the open space. The Parish Council is continuing to investigate how improvements to the play area can be funded.
