Astle Estates North Lake Development
Chelford Parish Council have been informed that proposals are to be submitted for the development of Astle Estates North Lake Development as a sport and leisure facility.
The Cheshire Lakes Company is to make a formal planning application early in 2016, to turn the northern part of the quarry into a wakeboarding centre with facilities also for kayaking and canoeing.
It is also planned to build a café and a shop at the location. Currently, it is estimated that in summer, at least 100 cars a day will visit the centre which will open all year round from 9.00am until dusk. Access to the centre will be from the Alderley Road. The centre will be available to the general public, who will also have access to the local countryside via existing pathways.
Details of the proposal and an opportunity to provide early feedback can be found at the following website: www.cheshirelakes.co.uk
We have been told that Chelford residents will have the chance to feedback on the proposals via a public consultation and we will keep you updated on this offer.
The plans for Astle Estates North Lake Development will have an impact on the Chelford community and it is therefore important that you consult the website www.cheshirelakes.co.uk to view the proposals and maybe make some early comments to the developers.
The Parish Council has been made aware of these proposals and councilors will be making comments once plans have been formally submitted. You may wish to pass on any comments to councillors in the meantime. Keep watching the Chelford website for further news.
These proposals come quickly after the news that the Stobart site has now been sold to a developer and final planning to build 94 dwellings will be submitted after Christmas.
