Hereford Tops Chelford Mid-Summer Breeding Bull Sale At 2,700 Gns
Despite the excellent silaging weather, there was a good turnout of bulls and customers at Chelford's Mid-Summer Breeding Bull sale last Monday, apart from one, a complete clearance of the 17 bulls offered for sale.
Leading the day at 2,700 gns was a May 2013 born Pedigree Hereford from Alan and Phil Massey, Bury, Lancashire, purchased by David Edge after a fierce bidding battle involving several local producers.
Limousin Bulls sold to 2,100 gns for a Black, august 2010 born working bull from J Clayton, Bradford, with young Limousin's selling to 2050 gns for an April 2013 born bull from the Cheadle Wood Herd of Craig Schofield.
Angus Bulls sold to 1,620 gns for an August 2012 born bull from J Cowap, Haslington, Cheshire gong to M Jones of Oswestry.
