Speeding In Chelford

Home » Newsroom » Speeding In Chelford

Myself and PCSO Hawkes carried out some speed enforcement yesterday on Knutsford road in Chelford. We caught 8 drivers exceeding the 30 mph speed limit along this road.

These drivers will either receive 3 points and a fine or will be asked to attend a driver awareness course which incudes a fine depending on how Cheshire Police central ticket office wishes to deal with them.

We also spent some time on Tabley lane in Tabely in response to a resident's concern.
We caught 5 drivers exceeding the 30mph speeding limit, these will be dealt with by means of a warning letter.

Predominantly a PCSO will normally deal with speeders by way of a warning letter but,in January this year Knutsford PCSOs were trained to use a speed gun, the results of which allows them to issue 3 point penalties to drivers.

We send all of our data to our central ticket office for them to decide how drivers will be dealt with.

You will see us out and about in the Knutsford area and we hope that we do not have to issue you three points so please watch your speed.

Regards.
