Our Superfast Broadband Champion, Mike Grundy has now found more information about the state of the implementation in Chelford.
Some Chelford cabinets are currently "Fibred". Mike believes that there to be 5 more that are due soon, but he is unsure which ones.
The cabinets which have been 'fibres' are:
Cab 2: PEPPER STREET OPPOSITE SNELSON HOUSE
Cab 3: KNUTSFORD ROAD OPPOSITE'DIXON ARMS'
Cab 6: JUNCTION OF CHELFORD ROAD/ DIXON DRIVE / PEPPER STREET/ KNUTSFORD ROAD. EGERTON ARMS
The maximum speed in Chelford appears to be at "max'ed" at the 26mbps level. It would seem unlikely that we will get the 78mbps rates seen in town centres.
It is now possible to run a test which will tell you what cabinet you are linked to and what your likely speed will be. Mike himself has run the test and has been able to order BT Infinity.
It's definitely on its way now, so many thanks to Mike for all his efforts to push things along.
