TB RESTRICTED SALE REPORT
HALTON FARMS LTD, CHANCE HALL FARM, CONGLETON
DISPERSAL OF 130 WEANLINGS & CALVES UNDER TB RESTRICTION
A Successful days trading was witnessed at the First on Farm, Tb Restricted Sale to be held in the North West.
With a Company of 11 buyers present from Herefordshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire & Powys competitive bidding was witnessed for all 23 pens of cattle & 11 pens of calves sold on the day.
Top call of the day came for a group of 5 x 5 month old British Blue Steers straight off the grass which realised £480, other grazing blues only 4mths sold for £405. A pen of 7 Montbeliarde & Swedish Red Steers at 6 months saw good bidding to realise £365
Indoor Cattle steers saw a solid trade with 5 month old Blues to £470, A super pair of 3mth steers £420. Heifers harder to sell, but upto £375 at 5months. The young Montbeliarde's met a particularly good trade with pens of 4 month old bulls selling for £255 & £250.
Baby calves were a superb trade all things considered with a 35 day old Blue bull realising £350, others to £300, Blue heifers to £235. 9 Montbeliarde bull calves realise £225, Swedish Red and Holstein Bulls at 6 weeks sold to £170.
All thing considered, a super day, with all cattle sold at Fair & Respectable prices, which in the TB Trading world is all that we can hope for!
