Work on Stobart Site
In high winds earlier this year, wind damage to some of the leylandii trees adjacent to the railway line caused the train line to close and emergency removal works to take place.
An amended landscaping scheme, which seeks to remove the offending trees and replace with some which are on Network Rail's list as suitable within the proximity to a railway line, has been accepted by Cheshire East.
The date and time of the removal of the existing trees has been dictated by Network Rail. This has now been confirmed as the 9th and 10th September 2017 between midnight and 4am as this is the only period when the line can be closed and electricity disconnected. This will obviously be outside working hours and will be noisy and disruptive, but we are told that there are no alternatives.
A letter is to be sent to residents but we wanted to inform you in advance.
