World Thinking Day
A Tree For World Thinking Day
On 22 February each year, Guiding members and Girl Scouts across the world think of each other and of their commitment to international friendship and understanding. This is World Thinking Day.
Celebrated since 1926, world thinking day is a day of International friendship, speaking out on issues that affect girls and young women, and fundraising for 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world.
The theme for World Thinking Day 2017 was #LetsGrow — a chance for us to invite more girls and young women into our incredible worldwide movement.
To celebrate Thinking Day the Brownies and Guides planted a Flowering Cherry tree in the verge of the village hall car park, by kind permission of the Village Hall Committee. The tree should flower every February and bring to mind all that Thinking Day means to so many people.
As you can see by clicking on the pictures, everyone braved shocking weather to plant the tree but that's Cheshire for you!
