After weeks of planning and preparation, the Chelford Jubilee celebrations came to life today, under blue skies and warm sunshine. Chelford Social Committee should be righty proud of their efforts to bring our Village together in celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Village residents came out in force to enjoy the many and varied activities arranged by the Committee, including a BBQ, bar, live music, flower arranging demonstrations by Mike Caulton, steam engines, pony rides, face painting, artisan stalls, well hanging, Chelford Bake Off and much more. The Committee members were overwhelmed by the support and it was particularly pleasing to see residents from our new housing developments giving their support. It was also an opportunity for our elderly residents to enjoy a first social occasion after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic--thanks to Carl and Diana Riley for providing transport.
The Chelford Social Committee deserves huge thanks for efforts to make it a great day for all those who attended. Members have worked incredibly hard to organise events and gain funds to provide many of the activities and refreshments free of charge. Thanks also to those who came along and enjoyed the day.
