A number of volunteers have been out and about in Chelford recently making a positive contribution to our community and its environment. The Dixon Drive verge volunteers have done a fantastic job in making significant improvements to the footpath under the railway. Using donated hard core, the volunteers have created a well defined pathway which is now wider and more accessible for walkers. In addition, the regularly flooded area under the bridge will now be passable all year round without having to wade through mud and water. Give them a big thank you next time you see them out and about.
Last weekend a group of volunteers, including members of the Parish Council, engaged in a two hour litter pick through the Village. Using equipment donated by Cheshire East, the volunteers covered the the whole of Mere Court, including clearing the pond of cans, bottles and the odd football and then proceeded to walk along Knutsford Road almost up to the roundabout, clearing hedges and footpaths. Unfortunately there was some evidence of fly tipping on the strip of land by Cricketers Green which was cleared by the volunteers. Five large bags of litter were collected and placed in an agreed location for Cheshire East collection. Well done to Danielle, Charlie, Chris, Alice, Lottie and Dave for their efforts to make the Village clean and tidy
