Here's a request from Chris Sullivan who is asking if anyone is interested in a Community Fibre Partnership in order to provide super fast broadband.
For about 5% of the country, a fibre broadband solution may not be considered commercially viable by network providers. If you are in such an area, it is possible get super fast broadband through forming a community fibre partnership. In order to do this, there is a need to work through some initial checks to provide an outline cost for providing a new fibre infrastructure for your community and at that point you can decide whether you want to proceed to the next step.
BT Openreach is one such organisation who would help with this. Click on the files to download further information.
Rural premises may be eligible for additional funding through the Government's Rural Gigabit Connectivity programme. Business and residents in some of the hardest-to-reach places in the UK are eligible for additional funding towards the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband to their premises when part of a group project.
