The Draconid meteor shower will peak this week, and should be visible provided that the weather is kind to us.
The show should be at its best on the 7th or 8th of October with around 5 shooting stars being visible on average each hour. The phenomenon arises as the Earth passes through debris left behind by the Giacobini-Zinner comet when it broke up as its orbit camenearto the Sun.
