It was always the intention that, as part of the restoration of the Astle Estates land affected by sand extraction, a new footpath loop would be provided.
This is now open and it forms a pleasant walk east of the north lake and around a small wooded area where there is abundant bird life, including several species which are comparatively rare.

Please bear in mind that this is NOT a pubic right of way. As it's a permissive pathway, this can be withdrawn at the landowners' discretion, so please be good, treat the land with respect and keep dogs under close control.
