Games Award For School

Chelford CE Primary School News:

At the end of June we received notification that our school has achieved the Silver School Games Mark Award for the academic year 2018-19.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

In addition to PE lessons taught by school staff, coaches from Sports Coaching North West deliver sports lessons for all the children each week on Mondays and Fridays, and an after school sports club on Mondays; this half term the focus has been on summer sports: rounders, tennis, cricket, and track and field events. Each Thursday after school, Macclesfield Town FC Community coaches also run a sports club.

As a member of the Holmes Chapel and District Schools Sports Partnership we are also very fortunate to have additional PE coaching led by Mr Capewell, Sports Coordinator from Holmes Chapel High School, and access to a wide variety of inter school sporting activities hosted by HCCS.

We are delighted to have been recognised, once again, for our sporting success; throughout the year the children have participated in many competitions and we are extremely proud of their dedication to all aspects of school sport.
