After a long wait, Cheshire East has made considerable progress on the improvements in Mere Court. A new path has been laid and the play area has been completely refurbished with new equipment located on a special safety surface. The area surrounding the equipment is also being improved to provide seating and tables.
The funding for these changes has been provided by the contributions made by Jones Homes in the 106 agreement, which was drawn up prior to the development of the former Stobart site. Additional 106 funding has been used to provide a new classroom for Chelford School.Work is continuing at Mere Court and the play area should be open once this is completed. Cheshire East will also be undertaking work on the pond. Watch out for updates on progress.
The development of the former market site will also provide 106 funding for improvements to other open spaces in the Parish including the play area and MUGA field adjacent to the Village Hall.
