29 August 2019 – Social evening which included the monthly meeting
Traditionally the August meeting follows a different format from the regular meetings, it is a social evening and as such the regular WI business is kept to a minimum. The venues vary and this year the Lambing Shed was chosen to host the evening. 28 members attended the dinner.
There was no singing of Jerusalem and President, June Leach, confirmed that correspondence would be dealt with next month. She indicated that there had been a dialogue with the church regarding the village hall and further meetings were planned.
Julie Haighton explained that the trip to the Amazon Warehouse had been moved to November 5th, the visit was proving to be very popular.
Barbara Wilson reminded members that the next walk would be Sept 11th and there had been some discussion about starting a cycling group. She encouraged anyone who was interested to contact her.
Judy Weinholt thanked members for their entries to the Village Show.
The group then enjoyed chatting over a delicious three course dinner. Everyone agreed it had been a super evening and a great choice of venue.
If you are interested in joining us, look out for the notices and come along to the Village Hall, last Thursday in the month at 7.30pm. It's a wonderful way to meet local ladies. You can be sure of a warm welcome. Contact our president June Leach, firstname.lastname@example.org or 07500 250969 for further details.
